Tully Review - 3½ Stars
Charlize Theron struggles with motherhood and family stress. She's near the point of a breakdown when "Tully" arrives. "Tully" is an enchanting young night nanny, who cleans the house, watches the newborn, and coaches Charlize to be her best self. Soon, Charlize feels good and alive again. "Tully" sounds like a latter day "Mary Poppins," but the film is a magic trick. The script by Diablo Cody, who wrote "Juno" and "Young Adult" lifts this comedy into a thrilling place. "Tully," rated "R," 3½ stars. Does it deliver what it promises? Much more than expected. Is it entertaining? Deep and satisfying. Is it worth the price of admission. A big YES.
