In Darkness Review - 3 Stars
Entry from Poland as best foreign film—an ambitious sewer worker discovers Jews during the Nazi occupation tunneling from the Warsaw ghetto into the sewers. At first he helps them for money but ultimately bonds with the protects them. Based on a true story with some of the same power as “Schindler’s List.” Subtitled in Polish, the story runs a little long and comes close but only reminds the viewer of the power of “Schindler’s List.” Does it deliver what it promises? Holocaust drama. Is it entertaining? A little long. Is it worth the price of admission? Story with power and truth.
