Cabin in the Woods Review - 2.5 Stars
“Cabin in the Woods” comes up with a wicked explanation of why kids get offed in the woods by the various monsters and demons who appear on Friday the 13th or Halloween or Elm Street. Turns out Bradley Whitford and Richard Jenkins have something to do with all of this in a lab somewhere. And then there’s a twist on that twist which gets so bloody and delicious I won’t dare hint at it but instead tell you the surprise is worth the price of admission. “Cabin in the Woods” earns its R rating with a little nudity, a lot of violence and one of the biggest blood baths ever. Cast includes Chris Hemsworth who made this before “Thor” turned him into a star. Kristen Connally plays the good girl, Fran Kranz the stoner kid, Jesse Williams the smart guy, and Anna Hutchison the party girl—all attractive up and comers. Does it deliver what it promises? Horror with a twist. Is it entertaining? Very creative. Is it worth the price of admission? For the fun of it.
