Despicable Me 2 Review - 3 Stars
The follow up to the animated delight of a few years ago recaptures much of the fun of the original, thanks to the little yellow “Minions” who bounce and giggle and raise holy heck. Steve Carell returns as “Gru” the one time villain turned good guy caring for three young girls. But fate intervenes, pulling him into a new plot to take over the world. Kristen Wiig plays a spy for the Anti-Villain League who recruits Carell to help her find the brains behind this new plot. Our friends the little minions get involved when the bad guys turn them into puffed up bad guys instead of cute critters. Later they perform a couple of musical numbers and throw things at us in 3 D during the credits. What more do you want from a family film. Does it deliver what it promises? rambunctious family fun. Is it entertaining? Great for kids and parents. Is it worth the price of admission? Always good to see a family film for the holidays.
