In "The Rhythm Section" Blake Lively goes from prostitute drug addict to assassin when she discovers terrorists planted a bomb in the airplane explosion that wiped out her family. She does her best playing the role gritty and athletic, but I never bought it - not for a minute.
Blake Lively rubs off her make up and show us her bruises as the hero of "the Rhythm Section," Stephanie Patrick. Somehow she moves from squalor to highly trained assassin, fueled by desire to avenge the death of her family. Jude Law appears as her trainer, and Sterling K. Brown as her lover. "The Rhythm Section" is a perfect example of a January movie, something studios burn off hoping to make a few dollars back when they dump it on cable.
