The Little Things takes us back to the 90's and the days before cellphones and DNA. A film noir police procedural brings old timer Denzel Washington back to the LA Sheriff's office he left under a cloud. Washington bonds with his replacement, younger college educated Rami Malek. Together they pursue suspected serial killer Jared Leto, who seems to delight in the dance of the spider and the fly or in this case flies. The Little Things feels like a movie and a plot produced a dozen other times. Washington and Malek have good chemistry and turn in fine performances. Leto does his part creating a believably creepy guy. The Little Things is not a bad movie but it's not a great one either, and suffers in presentation on a small screen.
